I am also having a boy and wasn't impressed with most of the packaged sets of crib bedding for boys…I didn't want some lame tugboats/trains/airplanes set (which most of the boy stuff is) nor did I want a lame barnyard set or anything unisex. I wanted something boyish, but not lame, more of a modern style. I looked and looked and didn't want to pay a ton for the more boutique-y stuff and I'm pretty crafty so decided to make my own bedding and accessories, and the bonus is I bought as much fabric as I wanted so I can do more accessories than the packaged stuff comes with (I am covering his wall-hanging name letters in the fabric as well as covering photo frames and a quilt, bumper, sheet, bedskirt, hamper liner, valance, etc). And no other baby will have the same set. And its exactly my style. And the fabric/supplies so far have cost me under $150.

Personally I like the one from target best. Although I have to agree they do look a little on the girly side just because they are so pretty. I think if you found a blanket that was like circles or squares instead of a pattern it would make it seem more masculine. But I have no idea what your room looks like so it could be with the aqua it all looks perfect! Good Luck!

I really like this bedding. The colors are definitely unisex, so that is a plus. I have three small children and I know what it is like to fall in love with a crib set. IMHO, you could use this for either sex. The key is to make sure when the baby is born to accessorize with girlie things or boyish things. For example, a boy's room might have some soft fuzzy balls in the room's colors, or a teddy bear wearing a uniform, A picture of some trucks or blocks on the wall. Using an accent color of a navy blue, or the sage green in the bedding for the crib sheet. For a girl, lots of girlie things like hairbrushes, baby dolls, doilies, knickknack type things.

Anyway, just a thought and congrats on your pregnancy!

    blessings to you!

Pottery Barn stuff is very nice- especially their furniture/cribs. I'd try to find some cuter/classier bedding to match the crib if I were you. This bedding is just too common looking.

I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't like the bedding.

We have a white, basset, four poster crib that was tough to find bedding to match the niceness of the crib so we had ours custom made.

I'm having a boy, and babyuniverse.com has some super cute themes for boys.
I went with a safari theme, lots of giraffes, so lots of yellows and brown and greens actually. it's super cute.
