Organic Baby Toys

Organic Baby Toys

You ever watched a child play? Whenever they are holding any one of their baby toys, the first thing that a young child will do with this is to put it directly into their mouths. This is perfectly natural and most of us are aware of the fact that the mouth is the way that children often explore the world around them. Did you realise, however, that many of the baby toys that are out on the market may not be the best thing for your child to be exploring by putting it into their mouth? As a matter of fact, many of the commercial toys that are available may be harmful in this way.

One of the reasons why this is the case is because baby toys are often made with commercial cotton and other fibres. Whenever these are being grown, they are exposed to a number of different pesticides and other chemicals in order to keep away pests and to improve the crop. Unfortunately, these chemicals that are sprayed onto the cotton find their way into the material and this can be very harmful to your child whenever they’re putting them in their mouth. It is a much better idea for you to find toys that are made with organic fibres, such as organic cotton and organic wool, like those that are sold at otoys.co.uk.

This is not only the case whenever you have a child of your own but it is also true if you’re looking for baby gifts, especially as eczema, asthma, allergies and sensitive skin are increasingly becoming so common. To be perfectly honest, there are only so many things that you can get for a child that is very young and if you like to have your gift stand out, you would want to make sure that you are giving something that was good for the child along with something that is unique. These types of baby toys that are made from organic fibres are perfect for children and they are also typically something that is appreciated by the parents as well.

Another reason why you might want to consider getting baby toys that are organically made is because of the impact on the environment that the manufacturing of many of these toys has. If you’re getting regular toys that are produced with non-organic fibres, you are promoting the growth of these fibres and the spraying of pesticides into the environment. Only by going with something that is organic are you helping to save the environment. Not only that, many of these baby toys end up in the landfills after the child outgrows them. Organic baby gifts typically biodegrade much easier than those which are made from plastics.

The list goes on as to why organic baby toys are better than the conventional toys that are typically found on the market. The simple fact that you are doing something that is good for the child, makes them not only the perfect thing for the parent to buy, but also one of the best baby gifts that you can find.

LOL, sure. Is the floor your baby will be licking organic too? Some stuff sold for babies is totally pointless…… "Organic" toys collect germs as fast as non-organic toys do.

The tags are telling fibs!! I wash all of my childrens toys unless theirs a voice box or battery in it somewhere. I put them in an pillowcase, tie the end and put on a 40 degree wash with low spin….never lost a furry friend yet. (Done it with a bunny too with teething bits on it).

food safe mineral oil – need to apply multiple times and then every 3-6 mo of heavy use or so, it is what they use on kids table and chairs, some chew wood toys, countertops and cutting boards also I dont think organic would be safer but if you can find it go for it. It is really nice to sit and rub it into something while watching a movie or talking, just my always pregnant point of view.

The closest area would be the 2nd Street District (on 2nd, between Colorado and San Antonio). Not sure if they have any stores with baby items, but it's definitely the largest/best shopping downtown.

If you are willing to take a bus (or a Dillo – a free trolley that follows tourist routes (Orange Route goes to South Congress, I believe)), you'd probably enjoy shopping on South Congress (lots more shops, with a wider variety).
