Baby Shower Game Ideas

Babies are so much fun. But baby games shower are much more fun since moms-to-be, godparents, grandparents, and other invitees in the baby shower can get to play childish games again. Some of the baby game shower that can be played include Sing It, Baby!, Measuring up Mommy, Here’s Looking at You, Kid!, Don’t Say Baby, Baby Truth or Dare,  The Seventh Gift,  and Dig out the Pins.

These baby games are the common baby game showers usually played. They are a great way that would let the guests mingle and get to know each other, if they aren’t acquainted yet. This is also another great way to give honor to the mom-to-be for having that precious baby on the way.

How do we play these baby game showers? Here is the run-down on how to play the baby game shower and create good memories of a great baby shower.

In Sing It, Baby!, the guests participants form a circle. They can sit or stand. Then, each guest must sing a line or two from a song that has the word “baby” in it. When the first game player has finished, the next person seated on her right has ten seconds to sing another “baby” song. “Baby” songs cannot be repeated, thus, participants who repeat a song or cannot think of a “baby” song gets booted out of the game. Last person singing in this baby game shower wins the prize!

How big has mommy become? Measuring Up Mommy is the baby game shower to play as this gives the guests the freedom to measure mommy’s size. Have a couple of toilet paper rolls ready and ask each participant to estimate the size of mommy’s girth by cutting the toilet paper to their guess size. Then each one wraps around the new mommy’s stomach the toilet paper they cut. The nearest length approximating to the mommy’s stomach wins the prize!

Remember how you looked when you were a baby? This game takes you down memory lane as you need to dig up those baby pictures of yours. Because you need them to play the baby game shower Here’s Lookin’ At You, Kid! Before the party itself, request all the guests coming to bring the cutest baby picture of themselves. Upon their arrival, secure each baby picture and assign a number per picture. During the game, lay all baby pictures and give each participant paper and pen and ask them to identify as many baby pictures as they can. The guest with the most number of correct guesses is the big winner.

This baby game shower makes you NOT say what you are suppose to be attending to! The game Don’t Say Baby is precisely that! Don’t say “baby” during the entire length of the baby game shower for the diaper pin that was given to you upon your arrival will be taken away from you. The person with the most number of diaper pins collected at the end of the shower party wins a prize.

This baby game shower is for those who love baby trivia and the like. Play Baby Truth or Dare by writing down some baby trivia, some correct and others purposely written incorrectly. During the baby game shower, ask randomly if the baby facts are either true or false. Those who guess correctly gets a prize while those who don’t will be dared to perform in front of everyone else.

We all know that the single lady who catches the bride’s wedding bouquet is said to become the next bride. In The Seventh Gift, it is not so much a baby game shower but more of a fable that says that the giver of the seventh gift unwrapped will be the next expecting mother. However, avoid “planting” the seventh gift.

Last but not the least, Dig Out the Pins is the baby game shower that tests the agility of the guests as they fish out the most number of diaper pins from a large bowl filled with uncooked rice and diaper pins in under two minutes. The participant that has the most number of pins brings home the prize.

This is a game that is harder than it seems like it would be. Get a couple of food storage containers and fill them with uncooked rice. Then add about 50 safety pins (closed of course) of different sizes to each container and mix them up. The person has one minute to pull out as many safety pins as they can while having their eyes closed, so they are working by touch only. It's actually pretty difficult to try and sort them out-try it yourself and see!

My daughters took an ultrasound picture and got it framed and had a matt put around it where people could sign messages to the baby and family…we have it in lilas room, and its so neat to read what people wrote.

some games that we played at my friends baby shower were

    baby tic-tac-toe
what you do is everybody makes a tic-tac-toe thing and fills each box with something dealing with a baby ex: crib, bottle, diaper etc.
and you make a list of the items dealing with a baby and 1st one to get tic-tac-toe wins

    guess how round she is
take some toilet paper and cut off as many squares you think she is. everybody measures her the one to be exact or close wins

    guess the baby food
get about 6 containers of baby food(number them) and everybody gets a plate and numbers it 1-6 (on the plate) and you serve everybody a little of the baby food. then they guess what the food is(had to be the right food with the right number) who ever get the most right wins

guess how many kisses in the container
everybody guess how many Hershey's kisses are in the container

get at least 5 candy bars melt them in diapers
everybody gets a sheet of paper numbers it 1-5
and pass the diapers in order and you have to guess what type of chocolate it is just by looking and smelling (no tasting) who ever gets the most right wins

    draw the baby
everybody gets a paper plate and a pen. puts the plate over their head and tries to draw a baby. the best baby wins

    make the baby
everybody gets a little of clay or play-doh and makes a baby
    cutest baby wins

    * Baby food guessing game – get jars of baby food and peel of label or put in pretty containers and everybody has to guess the flavor.

    * Don't say baby game – have a baby safety pins and everybody gets one when they get to the shower. Nobody can say baby and if someone catches someone saying the word baby they get their safety pin and whoever has the most at the end wins a prize.

    * Unwrapping game – set a timer for 10 minutes or so. Whoever present mommy is unwrapping at the time the buzzer goes off gets a prize.

First off Congratulations on your new baby!!!
I have been to a few baby showers. We have played the scrambled baby item game. One game was that they would put either, juice milk, water, soda, whatever the participant was drinking in a baby bottle all filled the same amount. (Not alot though.) And the person had to try to drink all of whatever they had in their bottle. It's harder then it looks, (a child actually won that game at the shower I attended). I've had to put a piece of paper on my head and try to draw a baby and the mommy to be picks the best drawing. A door prize idea is we made little blue/pink diapers out of small squares of felt and put mustard or something in one of the diapers and each place setting got one and whomever had the dirty diaper won a prize. I think one game that was pretty good was the mommy to be when around with a platter/plate/tray with baby items on it (of course saying hello as she went to everyone) and she didn't really say anything. So everyone assumed you had to memorize what she was carrying on her tray. When she had been around to everyone she left the room. Her mother then stands up and says okay everyone please right down everything that, she (mommy-to-be) was wearing. Everyone was like OMG I didn't even pay any attention to that. Hope this was helpful!

Hand out paper and a pencil to each guest. Then, everyone has to put the paper on top of their head and draw a baby as best they can. It's pretty funny to see the drawings- the honoree gets to pick her favorite one as the winner.

Play "pin the pacifier on the baby"- draw a baby on posterboard and give everyone a paper cutout of a pacifier with double-stick tape on the back. Each person is blindfolded and has to get as close as possible to the baby's mouth.

Pass around a roll of streamer paper, and have everyone tear off a length of paper that they think is the length around the pregnant honoree's waist. Everyone gets to wrap their piece around her belly- whoever is closest wins.

Don't forget to buy prizes for the winners!
