How to Make Your Own Baby Gift Baskets

How to Make Your Own Baby Gift Baskets

When a new mom has her baby, it is ideal to give her a gift she’ll truly enjoy. Often the new mom receives duplicates or even triplicates of some gifts and these gifts are simply not as appreciated as others. A unique and creative idea for a baby gift is to give a gift basket with a fun theme.

There are many great themes for a baby gift basket. The very best gift basket theme keeps both the baby and the new mom in mind. Certainly, there are many different likes and tastes to please. A gift basket is a great way to give anyone lots of little treats instead of a larger gift. It is also a fun way to package several gifts.

Organic Baby Gift Basket. Many moms are turning to organic products for their babies. Organic cotton clothing and diapers are popular choices. Organically produced shampoo, lotion and other baby products are also ideal. An excellent idea for this baby gift basket are small sizes of organic baby food products any new mom would be sure to appreciate. A book about living organic would be a great introduction to the organic lifestyle if the new mom needed more information.

Baby Toys Gift Basket. Every mom knows that an active baby is a happy baby! A happy baby means a happy mommy! Moms love to find great ways to keep their babies active. There are lots of great toys that babies love that would make a wonderful baby toys basket. Fill this basket with stuffed animals, a mobile and toys that will keep that adorable baby happily occupied.

Baby Books Gift Basket. There is nothing like getting your child started on a love of books at an early age. Children that grow up reading grow up more confident about school and learning. Bill Clinton once said on this exact subject, “Readers are leaders.” Fill a baby gift basket with great baby books. What is so popular with babies and moms today are board books. These books are sturdy and will stand up to being tossed or chewed or anything else that a baby just might do to a book. Some popular baby books include Goodnight Moon and Green Eggs and Ham.

Pampering Mom and Baby Gift Basket. This is a great gift basket idea to keep both the new mom and baby very happy. Giving birth can be both an exciting and very stressful time. A gift basket filled with little treats for both mom and baby shows that you are encouraging this new mom to take good care of herself too. We all know that some moms will put themselves at the very bottom of the list and never take care of their own needs.

A gift certificate for a massage, chocolates or a good romance novel could be great ideas for the new mom. The baby would love a soothing baby lotion ideal for nighttime. There are nighttime baby lotions with lavender and chamomile that encourage the baby to lull them to sleep. A CD of lullabies would be a lovely gift. A handwritten note promising to babysit is a gift that would please both mom and baby!

Gift baskets make a wonderful gift, especially for the new mom and her baby. This is a great way to give a creative and very personal gift. You can often find pretty baskets, cellophane and satin ribbons at your local craft store. These items will easily “dress” any basket and make it look so beautiful for that new baby gift.

How many baby gifts should you give?
If you already gave the expectant mother a baby shower gift are you expected to bring another gift when you go to see the baby once it is born?
Or is once enough? Just wondering about the proper ettiquette.

Ok my aunt is expecting too so i can relate. if i didn't know the sex of the baby i would use soft neutral colors like green or yellow for the blanket http://www.nursery-rooms.co.uk/images/Winnie-the-pooh-nursery/Honey-tree-pooh-embroidered-fleece-small.jpg (sorry i couldn't give you more variety to choose from, this is the only one i found)
and dont forget the teddy bears, range them different in sizes and colours http://www.morethanagiftonline.co.uk/soft_toy_catalogue/teddies.jpg oh and buy diapers and if you want to you can sew or crotche (sp, pronounced cra-shay) a little pillow for him/her to rest on and to cuddle with, and try to make up a little lulllaby then buy one of those recording gift cards and put the lullaby on it, dont forget about the parents too, to help them save money on baby necessity's buy them at least a 20 dollar gift card for a baby store conveniently close to their home so that the mom doesn't have to drive or walk too long to get there. hope this helps and tell them congrats 4 me.

That's Sweet. Yes, I do fundraising for Demelza House Children's Hospice by holding raffles, "Coins For Kids" campaign is really popular. "Stickers for Kids". I also encourage people to send me their old Christmas Cards for recycling so that I may send them to the Children. We've also sold Subway Sandwich Gift Certificates, etc. And send 3 checks a year. I've even got the guys at the post office saving their coins. Every 4th of July I have a picnic at my house, and buy a bunch of raffle prizes and the money we make goes to Demelza House. One year, I made them 150.00. I am always thinking up new ideas to help.

GIFT CARDS! Fun ones! Times are tough now for money. How about a few creative $10 gift cards to a bookstore, a local maternity store, and a local store that sells baby stuff (Wal-Mart, Target, etc.). I would have loved that during my pregnancy!

It would give her the option to help spending what she really needs!

You can creatively present the gift cards with a card and a sassy comment about her taking care of her needs… or present the gift cards in a half dozen carnations, tape the gift cards to a package of newborn diapers with a note that she'll have to put up with a lot of "stuff" from baby, and to induldge herself meantime?

Gift cards would have meant the world to me. They'd give me the freedom to explore what I needed, and would have assisted with what I wanted or needed to purchase! I was so eager so shop during pregnancy for me or baby, and was low on funds, so gift cards would be great!

tell her if that's the case, she isn't allowed to buy things for her daughter without buying for yours- that's how ridiculous shes being.

your partner needs to be handling this, you don't need this stress from an obvious retard when you've just had a baby.
shes obviously seething with jealousy and if she carried on with this stupid immature behaviour i would ban her from the house.

child support from your income? is she mad? shows what a money grabbing so and so she is. they'll laugh her out of court.

if you think your stepdaughter is saying things to her mum, remind her that she was once a baby who needed things and they were bought for her, she had her turn now its the babies turn.

good luck, i really feel for you.

I suggest you get an agent or talk to an advertising firm about your vision.

I think the gift basket of things you found useful is a perfect idea. I know that's what I would prefer to get. If this is a first baby for your hubby's aunt, she may well have walked through the store with the registration gun just zapping anything she thought was cute, without knowing if she'd really use it. First-timers (like me) have no experience to draw on.

So go with the gift basket. It's a much more thoughtful, personal gift than a random thing off a probably random list.
