Why Should I Keep a Baby Journal?

Why Should I Keep a Baby Journal?

A baby journal offers parents the ability to share quickly and easily the special moments in their lives with the baby along with family and friends. In a baby journal we can document everything in a simple way; from the baby’s initial steps to those magical first words,. Adding videos and photographs of the baby makes those words in the journal seem alive. The baby journal is a great way to record a child’s first year, creating a wonderful memento of all those important memories.

Whether you are writing about your feelings as a mom or writing something about your baby, your baby journal will let you capture these special moments forever. And these preserved recordings become even more special as time passes.

You can share your baby’s photos, baby videos, baby albums, baby book information including first moments, baby height and weight growth chart and tooth chart-anything and everything related to your baby. Allow your friends and family members to contribute in this journal in their own way. Down the road, this interactive timelines shared by friends and family members will also be enjoyed by the thankful children.

Have you ever come across a photograph that seemed ordinary when you clicked it, but with the passage of time, you begin to cherish that picture? It is the same with the baby journal. Your day-to-day recordings will take a different meaning when you replay them after a few years.

Keeping records of your baby’s immunizations is very much essential for doctor’s visit and school admissions. Putting all these things in a baby journal will help you in the future.

You can start a new column named ‘mother’s column’. Use this column to write your thoughts and feelings during your first year of motherhood. If you want, you may record your baby’s feeding and sleeping schedules. This kind of journal will make life easier of those who want an extra help regarding childcare.

What's a good song for a baby video I'm making?
I am making a baby video for my friend. I have pictures of her baby shower and some pictures of her newborn too. Any ideas on what would be a good song to go along with my video?

A Personal Baby Website was what John Roope wanted after his daughter was born. A site so secure that no weirdo could look at. After browsing around he could not find a site that satisfied all his requirements, so he came up with the idea of sweetnewbaby.com. This site is developing and expanding its features on the feedback provided by parents.

I never did. My daughter was breastfed, and I just nursed her when she seemed hungry or fussy. And made sure that her urine wasn't dark yellow or smelly.

We also didn't use vitamins. I wouldn't ever be able to keep up with a journal, much less care about one.

make sure they are completely dry before putting in storage. Then get some of those space saver bags, where you vacuum seal them. Then store in a cedar chest or hope chest of some sort that is lined in cedar. Cedar is a natural insect repellant and will keep the bugs away.

    That would be wondeful!
I have my Mum's dairy the year she was pregnant with me.
She had a lot of other troubles that year as well and the only good part about the year was me being born.
There is very little written in it but on the day of my birth she wrote about me in two words 'Absolutely Gorgeous' and I will treasure that dairy for the rest of my life.

When I got pregnant with my first child I recieved a book from a close friend and it was the best gift I ever got to remember my pregnancy. It is called The Pregnancy Journal. A Day-to-Day Guide to a healthy and happy Pregnancy by A. Christine Harris, Ph.D. It is a hrd back spiral bound book. There are places to write how you are feeling on a particular day, a place to record your weight, and it gives you info on whats going on inside as well as ouside your body on that particular day. You can personalize it to your unique pregnancy. I loved the book so much that I bought another one when I got pregnant with my second child. You can find it at a bookstore and I would try amazon.com. they've got books for pretty cheap but don't buy it used because this is a book that you will write in. Another book thats great for after the beby is born is Mother's Memories for my Son/Daughter by Deborah Nixon and Robyn Latimer. I have these books as well and they are going to be a great gift for my children when they come of age. One was given as a gift and I found the one for my daughter and amazon for an amazing price. Go to the book store (Barnes and Noble, Walden Books, Ect.) and you'll find what you're looking for.

I went to a bookstore, purchased a journal that I liked and then wrote "Dear Baby" letters about my pregnancy, what I was feeling, what my husband and I were doing, doctors appointments, ultrasound pics, preparations that we had made etc . . .

Congrats and best wishes for a happy & healthy pregnancy!

My kid popped out 2 bottom teeth on the day she turned 5 months old.

She drooled like no one's business so I knew it was coming.

Keep writing it first, no publisher is going to be interested in a prospective work by a prospective author.

When that's done, you can think about sending it to an agent or publishing houses or you could self publish through lulu.com
