Hey everyone! It’s Tuesday and I just wanted to show everyone what I got from my baby shower. Also, if anyone has any advice for a first time mom then that would be awesome! Please excuse the Demon Child screaming in the video. That was my little sister who hadn’t taken a nap all day. My camera doesn’t allow me to stop and start video. Once you start recording, if you stop it’s the end of the video.

    plenty of things

toiletries – bathwash, wipes, nappies, nappy rash cream etc
    towels
singlets – about a dozen of each size
rompers (just get neutral colours/patterns) but you will need lots of them in various sizes – about 6-7 of each size depending on weather in your area too
blankets (can never have too many)

you need to factor in that children will need something to sleep in, something to wear during the day and change of day clothes 2-3 times a day due to vomit/nappy leakage/weather this includes singlet/clothes and blankets

if you start with these items you will be well on your way remember that when you have a baby shower you will get more and when the baby is born more will be brought especially gender specific clothes.

You’re an inspiration to me. I recently had a missed miscarriage and naturally birthed my son at home at 16.5 weeks. I watch your videos and it gives me hope that I will fall pregnant and have a baby one day.

I am now on mommmyplaybook forums now too :)

I've sold to Once Upon a Child before and the way they work is that they will sell whatever item for half of what it costs in stores and then they will give you around half of that. So say a bouncer is $40 in stores, they will sell it in their store for $20 and give you around $10 for it.

You are probably better off selling it on your own through Ebay(if you want to deal with shipping and such) or Craigslist(if you prefer going local). That way you get to set the price. However, I wouldn't price items over half of what you orginally paid for them or you probably won't get a lot of bites.

Call your local pregnancy crisis center. There are several there. They help mothers with maternity needs, and baby stuff. You are a blessing. You are giving it to someone who really needs it instead of the Goodwill that sells it for cash and the only people they help is their employees with a paycheck, just like McDonalds. Congratulations!!

thank u so much that was one of my major concerns i would want when the time is right to try again instead of making sure its not a year

I miscarried in March and had a DNC but got pregnant again in April. Had a healthy baby boy. Unless you had a medical problem, you don’t have to wait a year to try again. Best of wishes to you and your family! If God wants you to have a baby, you will, time is of no importance to him. Go with your instinct!!!!

Get started. Once you get started, it seems like no time at all that your baby arrives and you're thinking "I'm not ready yet!" :)

Sign up for any baby clubs you can find. Most of them give free stuff or samples. The similac and publix ones are really good and give discount coupons and checks for the first year. Even if she breast feeds its a good idea to have some formula just in case, plus the formula companies offer free diaper bags.

    - Nappies
    - Nappy Bag
    - Baby Wipes (heaps!)
    - Clothing small amount of 000,
    - Towel
    - Small towels eg. Towelling nappies to use as "chuck cloths"
    - Bassinet or Cot
    - Blankets
    - Baby Wash
    - Car Seat
    - Pram
    - BIBS (you can never have too many!)
    - Bottles (if you plan on bottle feeding or expressing)

Every week in your grocery shop, go to the baby aisle and grab some wash, wipes, bibs etc.. as this way you wont have to get all these things towards the end. You may think that you have a heap of Nappies, Wipes or Bibs but you will need them.

    Best of Luck.

Amazon.com has baby stuff and you can say it's a gift and they won't print the price, but be careful if you buy from a seller other than amazon on there (these are the ones that don't qualify for free shipping) becuse there is a chance they will print the price. Target.com and babiesrus.com and walmart.com all have baby stuff and I would guess that at least one of them offers the option to say the item is a gift and gives an option to leave the price off.
