Baby Game Shower: Baby Games to Play at the Baby Shower

Babies are so much fun. But baby games shower are much more fun since moms-to-be, godparents, grandparents, and other invitees in the baby shower can get to play childish games again. Some of the baby game shower that can be played include Sing It, Baby!, Measuring up Mommy, Here’s Looking at You, Kid!, Don’t Say Baby, Baby Truth or Dare, The Seventh Gift, and Dig out the Pins.
These baby games are the common baby game showers usually played. They are a great way that would let the guests mingle and get to know each other, if they aren’t acquainted yet. This is also another great way to give honor to the mom-to-be for having that precious baby on the way.
How do we play these baby game showers? Here is the run-down on how to play the baby game shower and create good memories of a great baby shower.
In Sing It, Baby!, the guests participants form a circle. They can sit or stand. Then, each guest must sing a line or two from a song that has the word “baby” in it. When the first game player has finished, the next person seated on her right has ten seconds to sing another “baby” song. “Baby” songs cannot be repeated, thus, participants who repeat a song or cannot think of a “baby” song gets booted out of the game. Last person singing in this baby game shower wins the prize!
How big has mommy become? Measuring Up Mommy is the baby game shower to play as this gives the guests the freedom to measure mommy’s size. Have a couple of toilet paper rolls ready and ask each participant to estimate the size of mommy’s girth by cutting the toilet paper to their guess size. Then each one wraps around the new mommy’s stomach the toilet paper they cut. The nearest length approximating to the mommy’s stomach wins the prize!
Remember how you looked when you were a baby? This game takes you down memory lane as you need to dig up those baby pictures of yours. Because you need them to play the baby game shower Here’s Lookin’ At You, Kid! Before the party itself, request all the guests coming to bring the cutest baby picture of themselves. Upon their arrival, secure each baby picture and assign a number per picture. During the game, lay all baby pictures and give each participant paper and pen and ask them to identify as many baby pictures as they can. The guest with the most number of correct guesses is the big winner.
This baby game shower makes you NOT say what you are suppose to be attending to! The game Don’t Say Baby is precisely that! Don’t say “baby” during the entire length of the baby game shower for the diaper pin that was given to you upon your arrival will be taken away from you. The person with the most number of diaper pins collected at the end of the shower party wins a prize.
This baby game shower is for those who love baby trivia and the like. Play Baby Truth or Dare by writing down some baby trivia, some correct and others purposely written incorrectly. During the baby game shower, ask randomly if the baby facts are either true or false. Those who guess correctly gets a prize while those who don’t will be dared to perform in front of everyone else.
We all know that the single lady who catches the bride’s wedding bouquet is said to become the next bride. In The Seventh Gift, it is not so much a baby game shower but more of a fable that says that the giver of the seventh gift unwrapped will be the next expecting mother. However, avoid “planting” the seventh gift.
Last but not the least, Dig Out the Pins is the baby game shower that tests the agility of the guests as they fish out the most number of diaper pins from a large bowl filled with uncooked rice and diaper pins in under two minutes. The participant that has the most number of pins brings home the prize.

Baby shower games do not have to 'suck!' You just have to choose the right games. Here's my list of favorites:

You will find lots of other useful info here for baby shower planning as well! Enjoy the shower!
One would be fine
"Don't say 'baby'" – Give everyone one of those plastic pacifier, diaper pin, or rocking horse charms on a ribbon necklace. (You can buy them by the pack at the dollar store). If someone catches you saying they word "baby," they get your necklace(s). The one with the most necklaces at the end of the shower wins.
"How observant" – Put 8-10 baby items on a tray, then give everyone a sheet of paper with 8-10 blank lines on it (1 for each item on the tray). Have an accomplice take the tray around to show each of the guests, and tell your guests "this game tests your observation skills." Your accomplice then leaves the room with the tray. Most people think they have to remember what's on the tray, but the twist is, you ask questions about your accomplice, like "what was [accomplice's name] wearing?" "Describe her shoes." "Was she wearing a watch?" "Did she still have her pacifier/rocking horse necklace?" etc.
"Happy Birthday" – The person whose birthday falls closest to the due date wins a prize.
"Baby names" – Make a list of some popular baby names and have people match the name to the meaning. (You can find meanings on babycenter.com.)
+"Baby pictures" – Have your guests bring their own baby picture. You put them up on a board, and everyone has to guess who they are.
+"How many?" – Put a bunch of gummi bears or M&Ms in a clear piggy bank or novelty baby bottle. The guests who guesses closest to the actual number wins.
+"Diaper drawing" – Tape a diaper under one of the chairs before the guests arrive. The person who sits in that chair wins a prize.
Variation – Give everyone a diaper, but don't let them open it until everyone arrives. The person with the dirty diaper wins a prize.
I'll update if I think of any more.

Here are the games we played at my shower:
Diaper Bag Game
(Materials – Diaper Bag, necessary items for a newborn or parents, game sheets and pens)
Borrow a friend or family member's diaper bag filled with everything that the mother to be will need to take with her every time she goes out with baby. Give each guest a paper and pen and have them write down as many things they think are in the diaper bag. Time limit should depend on how many items there are to guess. When time is up, start taking the items out of the diaper bag and see who guessed the most.
Baby Scrambler
(Materials – Pens, Pre-Printed scramble game sheets)
Choose baby related items and scramble the spelling. Have the women unscramble the words. The one who gets the most right receives a baby shower prize.
Guess The Baby Animal Name
(Materials – Pens, Pre-Printed game sheets)
Pass out game sheets which list animals that have a specific and different name for its young (ie – dog and puppy). Give everyone five minutes to match as many of the animals to their young. Read the answers out loud to see who matched the most. (*** instead of animals, you can also play this game by matching celebrities with their oddly-named children ***)
Baby Shower Bingo
(Materials – Pens, Pre-Printed Bingo cards)
Prior to opening the baby shower gifts, guests will fill out a Bingo card with items they believe the mother-to-be will receive. As the mother to be opens the gifts, guests will check off the items. The first guest to get a Bingo (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally) wins a prize.
For food, you can do a few different things…
1) Go simple and just do fruit/veggie trays, punch, and cake
2) Make the food yourself or have a "pot luck"
3) Get catered food from a local restaurant
Also, it's a really good idea to have a diaper raffle for the expectant mom. You can never have too many diapers!

i love this song
so cute
how is dis a baby song
1.Bring out a lot of baby stuff people have about two minutes to look at it and then you have to take the items away. They then try to remember what you showed them and write it down.
2. When people walk in give them a safety pin. When someone hears someone else say baby, they lose their pin.
3.Get some jars of baby food and diapers. Put some baby food in the butt of the diaper. Make the guests guess what kind of food is in the diaper.
4. Take toilet paper and have guests try to figure out how big Mom to be is and then measure around her waist.
Here is some web sites that I found also:

some you have to pay for, but some are free!!!
what it’s this song’s name?
1) Guess Mom's Tummy Size: (Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. Give a prize to the woman who is the most close! This is a baby shower favorite.
the song is called cuppycake
I think thats great!! i played 4 games at mine also!! they are sooo fun!! GOOD LUCK!!
Bring a diaper bag full of baby items (that'd normally be in there) and have people try to list what all's in there in a certain amount of time. When the time is up, pull out the items and they check off what they got–the one with the most right wins.
Word scrambles could be good, too, with a time limit.
(like llreosrt is stroller)
I think we did one with tv characters where you try to fill in the blank of the baby name…
("Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and ___" for the Simpsons, for example)
