Shopping for Baby Cribs Online

Shopping for Baby Cribs Online

These days, Internet savvy people have been comfortable shopping for almost anything online.

The common commodities bought are books, CDs, DVDs and tickets because these are very straightforward products in terms of its specifications. A book that can be bought on a local bookstore is the same as the book that you can buy on it’s online counterpart. On the other hand buying unique furniture items like baby cribs can be a disaster because these products needs close quality inspection but the good news is when you’re lucky and resourceful enough you can find great online deals and discounts.

Below are some tips to guide you in buying Baby Cribs online:

1. Buying a used baby crib on classifieds sites is not highly recommended because of the uncertainty in the history and in the durability of the crib.

2. Inquire about the paint used on the crib that you’re eyeing, it should be lead-free and non-toxic.

3. The slats should be no more than 2 3/8 inches apart and with a minimum height of 26”

4. If it comes with a drop side then it should be at least 9? high when the side is lowered.

5. Ask for additional pictures in different angles to examine if there are no chipped or cracked paints.

6. The headboard and foot board must be made of either solid design or slats and not have any cutouts. These cutouts can be harmful to babies who can get caught and may be unable to get free.

7. Find out if it passed the manufacturer’s standards as this will mean that it meets the current safety standards.

8. If you are buying from free online classifieds or auctions sites, make sure that they are an authorized seller by asking their accreditation details as well as the manufacturer’s details. If they are genuine, they would be happy to share these details.

9. When buying cribs online, you should be careful about whom you buy from. Just because a website looks good doesn’t mean the retailer is any good. Look up for seller reputation comments or points.

10. Look for a comprehensive online brochure, manual with photos and diagrams to really know what you’re buying.

11. Make sure the crib is in stock, terms like ‘Special Order’ usually means that the retailer has to order it from the manufacturer. It may taken some time for the delivery when buying these specially tagged products because it takes weeks for it to arrive to the retailer then shipped to your place.

12. Ask about the return policy, you shouldn’t pay anything for returning any item.

Buying a baby crib online or offline is a big step for parents since it is a furniture item which will be used by baby often, a large consideration on safety should be given. Shopping online can give an ease if you are informed about the things that should be considered. Online stores are as ready as local stores to serve you, so feel free to browse to baby product listings and send inquiries to their customer support.

Help answer the question about baby cribs

What is the age limit on round baby cribs?
I've always wondered, with those round baby cribs, what is the age limit for how long the baby can be in it??? Is it just like a normal crib, they stay in until they show signs they are ready for a toddler bed or would they get out of the round baby crib earlier???

Recycling Furniture and well just everything is fun! We almost never buy anything new. Infact Having Twins I needed 2 Cribs, I purchased one at a Thrift store for 80$ and one brand new for over 100$ and the Used crib is so much more beautiful than the new one.
I show it in my latest Video I did about the Nursery :)
    Check it out!

It's safe.. just make sure you look up reviews on the crib too. (And of course if its recalled). Some cribs have problems with paint that chips off easily, or drop sides that get stuck or are too loose, or they dont use a standard size mattress, etc. Someone is bound to have bought the same crib you're looking at, and may have written a review about it. (I did this for a while, then went and actually saw the cribs at Babies R Us and realized that the one I liked at home was way way too big for my apartment in person.)

I really like this series. Not only for nursery ideas, but decorating ideas in general. I like the idea of using original art and refurbishing furniture instead of buying new stuff. Keep these videos coming!

ikea is fabulous as is target. ikea's are not put together but it is simple. my husband is all thumbs, god love him, and he managed to put two of them together in an hour total with a minimum of swearing and that was only because he didn't read the instructions. haha. we just turned ours into toddler beds as our twins are now two and a half and that was easy even with the two of them trying to "help." http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/childrens_ikea/10421-2/. i hope this helped.

I personally like Walmart.com because they have free shipping from sight to store and a great return policy. I got a lot of good baby items off the Walmart site.

When you buy large items shipping can add up, especially if you have to ship it back if you don't like it or there is a problem with it. With Walmart site to store you can reutrn it and get a refund at the store.

Sometimes Babies R Us has free shipping on orders over $100. But they do it as a special offer every now and then.

I would order from a place that has free shipping and most important READ THE FINE PRINT ON RETUNS AND ALSO SHIPPING COSTS AND WHAT HAPPENDS IF ITEM ARRIVES DAMAGED OR IS DEFECTIVE!!!

I ordered a rocker glider that had the holes drilled in the wrong place and the arm rest was made crooked so would not fit on and I was able to just take it back to walmart and get a refund. Had it been another site I may have had to pay to ship it somewhere and go through warranties and wait for a return or replacement. You do not want to deal with that… trust me!!!

    Congratulations and goodluck!!!

Once you find out the sex of the baby! because you don't know what bedsets you will get because of the sex of the baby whether it be blue or pink.

I did that with my son I bought a white crib when i was roughly 15 weeks and i couldn't find any sets that were boyish that matched with my white crib,I ended up returning the white crib for a black one.

i've only heard of charging services, not goods, to your phone bill, ie. internet service, collect calls. shopping online and having the charges put on a phone bill doesn't sound familiar. why don't you get a 'prepaid' credit card, if you don't have a credit/debit card of your own. you can buy them at places like duane reade, walgreens, walmart, etc. they look and work just like your normal visa or mastercard, except no bill at the end of the month.
